Sári Zagyvai

(1984, Székesfehérvár)

Sári Zagyvai graduated from the Visual Communication programme (Photography specialisation) at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME). She held the József Pécsi Scholarship between 2019 and 2022 and the National Cultural Fund’s scholarship for artists between 2023 and 2024. She obtained a DLA degree in multimedia at the doctoral school of MOME in 2023. Her works have been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Hungary and abroad. She is a continually experimenting representative of contemporary Hungarian photography with a distinctive artistic approach. Lying at the focus of her artistic interest is the primary, documentary function of photography, whose validity in the 21st century she challenges and questions through a combination of analogue and digital techniques. She is represented in Budapest by the Viltin Gallery.
