István Soltész’s childhood years in Tibolddaróc and his father’s photography legacy continue to shape his daily life, his creative work and his relationship with photography to this day. He started doing photography at the age of 16, directly after his father’s early death, perhaps initially out of respect for his father, but his growing interest led him to become a professional photographer. Photography and engineering became intertwined in his adult life, leading him to create the large-format camera system known as Argentum. Recently, he has been taking photographs almost exclusively with equipment he designed himself.
