Zsolt Birtalan

(1967, Budapest)

After completing secondary school, Zsolt Birtalan trained as a photographer at the vocational school on Práter Street. From the early 1990s, he worked as a photographer for magazines and photo agencies and held various positions as a picture editor, while simultaneously pursuing commercial and product photography. He increasingly devoted his time to creative, self-expressive art photography projects from the 2010s. His working method is close to the genre of street photography but differs from it in many significant respects. In recent years, he has participated in numerous exhibitions, including Site Visit (Korunk Gallery), Bauhaus 100 (MÜPA), 40 Days – Quarantine Pictures, Vanished Places (Artphoto Gallery), The Fragile Faces of Mortality (Petőfi Literary Museum), and André Kertész 130 (Association of Hungarian Photographers (MFSZ) Art Market Budapest). He has been a member of MÚOSZ since 1992 and of MFSZ since 1997
