Éva Keleti †

(1931 – 2025, Budapest)

A leading figure in Hungarian photography, winner of the Prima Primissima Award (2008), the Kossuth Prize (2017) and the Béla Balázs Award (1975), Meritorious Artist of Hungary (1987) and Artist of Excellence (2013). She worked for Magyar Fotó, then MTI Foto, later for Új Tükör, at the Hungarian exhibitions of World Press Photo, and as president of the Society of Hungarian Photojournalists; she was also head of the Europress photo agency. She has participated in the work of Hungarian and international juries and important professional bodies. She organised exhibitions and has edited and co-edited several books. Following a hiatus of two decades, she returned in 2019 with a new exhibition and new photographs at Kunsthalle Budapest. Her works can be found in Hungarian and international collections.
